The story of Harry Potter has captivated the heats of people from all age group in its entire franchise, and to be more specific, that's thirteen years in seven books and eight movies. With that, it's hard to believe that there are kids and young adults out there who had not seen at least one of the Potter movies.

The highly renowned movie franchise is based on the seven books written by British author JK Rowling. And if for some reason, you don't know any of these books and its corresponding movie, or you're late fan trying to cope, read this guide and jumpstart your way to the magical world of Harry Potter.

The story basically revolves around magic and the main character Harry Potter and his friends Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry is a born wizard, therefore he has the natural ability to wield and perform magic, and the only problem is he hasn't realized it yet. In the eve of his eleventh birthday, he received a letter of invitation to Hogwarts School of Wizardry. Receiving that letter hasn't been easy; many owl messengershad been sent to give Harry the invitation few days before his birthday. But his guardians hid all the letters from him, until magical morning came and hundreds of owl messengers flocked their house to give Harry more letters than his guardians can keep. And that was basically the start of the magical story that changed the boy's life. Every book of the series tells about a year of Harry's life, from what he learns in school, to people he meets and as well as his adventures. There have been a total of roughly about 450 million copies of book series that have been sold as of 2011, and the best part of it is it has been translated into sixty-seven languages to appeal to wider audience. The idea started from its author JK Rowling's imagination while waiting on a train bound to London in 1990. The first book "Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone" was completed in 1995, and after Warner Brothers adapted the series for film in 2001, the rise of popularity of the book series and its movie counterpart set off.

When Barry Fairbrother dies in his early forties, the town of Pagford is left in shock.

Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty fa├žade is a town at war.

Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils ... Pagford is not what it first seems.

And the empty seat left by Barry on the parish council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen. Who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and unexpected revelations?
